Wenge slab with mahogany base,
56W x 30H x 18D.
Wenge is native to eastern Africa.
The sapwood is yellow-white while the heart wood is a deep chocolate brown with fine straight grain.
The leg and rail arrangement is adapted from temple architecture.
The lower rail is not required structurally, but adds balance.

The design and construction are very simple,
though the table is quite strong.
The dimensions can be adjusted to suit a variety of uses:
add a drawer under the top shelf (bedside table);
add side and back rails between each shelf (bookcase);
build it taller (étagère), etc. |

The top is a slab of Indonesian walnut, the base is mahogany.
